Women's Trachten Blouse/Top Size Chart — Body Measurements

All measurements are body measurements in centimetres. This chart applies to our complete women's Trachten upper range — Dirndlblusen (worn beneath a dirndl), standalone Trachten blouses, and modern Trachten tops. If you are between two sizes, read the blouse fit note below before ordering.

Trachten blouse fit note: Your Dirndlbluse should fit close to the body, not loose or tent-like. The blouse hem sits beneath the Mieder bodice (typically ending 5–10 cm below the bottom Mieder edge), with bust and shoulder fit being what shows above the dirndl neckline. If you are between two sizes, order the smaller size — a loose blouse reads as costume, a fitted blouse reads as authentic Trachten.
One size system across our women's range: If you already know your dirndl size, you know your blouse size — German sizing is consistent across dirndls, blouses, and lederhosen.
How to Measure

Wear normal undergarments while measuring, including the bra you typically wear with Trachten. Use a soft tape measure and check that the tape sits level around your body.

  • Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your bust, with the tape level under the arms and across the shoulder blades at the back. This is the primary measurement for Trachten blouse fit.
  • Waist: Measure around your natural waistline — the narrowest part of your torso. Relevant for standalone Trachten blouses with a fitted waist (less important for short Dirndlblusen that end above the natural waist).
  • Shoulder: Measure across the back from shoulder bone to shoulder bone. Important for proper sleeve seam placement and overall fit at the top.

Trachten Blouse Style Notes
  • Dirndlbluse: The classic under-dirndl blouse. Cropped construction, ends at or just above the natural waist so the dirndl Mieder closes cleanly over it. White, cream, or pastel cotton most commonly, with optional lace or embroidery details. Bust is the primary fit measurement; waist is less relevant since the Mieder covers it.
  • Trachten Blouse: Longer-cut traditional Bavarian blouse that can be worn under a dirndl or as a standalone piece with a Trachten skirt or modern bottoms. Bust and waist both matter for fit since the full torso is visible.
  • Trachten Top: Modern interpretation, often with stretch fabric or relaxed cuts. Sizing remains consistent with the chart above; fit guidance varies per specific product.
  • Sleeve options: Short puff sleeve (Kurzarm) for summer Wiesn, three-quarter sleeve (Dreiviertelarm) for all-occasion wear, long sleeve (Langarm) for winter and formal Trachten. Sleeve length does not affect body sizing — choose your German size by bust, then choose sleeve length by occasion.
  • Neckline variants: Square neckline (Carmen-Ausschnitt), sweetheart, rounded scoop, ruffled. The neckline frames the décolleté above the Mieder — choose the style that complements your dirndl neckline shape.
